At the end of November, new measures were taken by the Czech government in the fight against COVID-19.
The measures already had a significant impact on the 2021 World Series of Poker Europe at the King’s Casino in Rozvadov.
It was also decided at that time that the European Poker Tour in Prague, which was scheduled to take place from December 9 to 19, would be postponed.
Meanwhile, PokerStars, the organizer of the European Poker Tour, has announced new plans. The EPT Prague will now take place from March 5-16. Severin Rasset, PokerStars Managing Director and Commercial Officer of Poker, said:
I am delighted that we have been able to adapt so quickly to the ever-changing situation and already provide our players with new data for EPT Prague, as well as some EPT online fun and value in the meantime.
So, the European Poker Tour will now be held the next month in Prague. Poker players from across the globe will be attending the event, which will take place in the King’s Casino, Hilton Prague Hotel.
The buy-ins for this live event range from €330 to €50,000. Some players have already secured their seats via online satellite tournaments.
Players won’t be needing a covid-certificate or proof of vaccination but must undergo a temperature scan at the Hilton Prague Casino. Wearing a face mask is mandatory.
Still Possible to Secure Your EPT Prague seat
If you still want to secure your seat for any of the poker tournaments taking place in Prague, you can join direct satellites on PokerStars every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday.
These satellites all start at 8:10 PM GMT, and the buy-in is set at €530. If this is a little too steep for you, you can try qualifying by winning sub-satellite tournaments, as there are €22 qualifiers being held daily.
Mystery Bounty Tournament to Take Place
To spice up the game a little bit, PokerStars has decided to organize a Mystery Bounty tournament, which will take place at the Hilton Prague hotel during the EPT.
The EPT Mystery Bounty tournament comes with a hefty €2,700 buy-in, €1,925 of which goes into the normal prize pool and €500 to the Mystery Bounty Pool.
From Day 2, each player will be given a random bounty value. These bounty values allegedly go up all the way to €50k!
